Death Omen of Thomas Marr

Thomas Marr was a Scotsman who decided to go to America to make a better life for himself. In 1836 he arrived in West Virginia, where he founded a town that was named after him: Marrtown. Marr married a local woman, Mary, and they established a prosperous farm. Their happy life was ruined by the Civil War (1861–1865), which brought financial hardship and loss to many. There was scarcely a family not affected by the war. To make ends meet Marr got a job as a night watchman on a bridge near Marrtown. Every night he rode out on his horse to the bridge. He stood watch in the cold and often in miserable weather. It was dark and lonely, and the woods seemed full of mysterious life.

On several occasions Marr caught sight of a stranger on horseback as he traveled to and from work. The figure was huddled beneath a hooded shroud. Marr could not tell if it was a man or a woman. Whenever he rode closer both horse and rider abruptly vanished. Marr told Mary about the rider. Neither one of them realized the awful truth: the figure was not a living person but a banshee come to foretell Marr’s death.

On February 5, 1876, Marr went to work at the bridge. He did not come back at his usual time. As the hours passed Mary grew more and more worried. When she heard a horse approach the farmhouse, she thought that her beloved husband was home at last. But instead she was greeted by a horrible sight. A shrouded figure whose face remained hidden sat atop a horse that looked supernatural. The figure spoke in a chilling voice, announcing that Thomas Marr was dead. As Mary stood in shock, the horse and rider vanished. True to the spirit’s message, Marr was found dead. How he died is not known. He may have had a heart attack or a stroke. Or perhaps he was frightened to death by the banshee itself.

When Mary died many years later at age 90, the banshee appeared again, but only as a woman’s voice that shrieked and cried as Mary’s corpse was laid out in her house. The sounds of rattling chains came from the attic.

Father Gill UFO Case

On 26 June 1959, the missionary Rev William Bruce Gill, an Anglican priest with a mission in Bosinai, Papua New Guinea and his staff witnessed a “sparkling object” descend from the clouds toward the mission. The craft was circular, with legs protruding from the bottom, and shone a blue ray of light into the sky. Four figures appeared on an upper deck. After 10 minutes, it rose back into the clouds, though returning an hour later.

On 27 June, a craft like the first one appeared, complete with mysterious crew, watched by over a dozen people. At that time about twenty-five natives, including teachers and medical technicians, also observed the phenomena. They "signaled" the humanoids and received an apparent response. When Gill gestured that the craft should land, the figures went back inside.

On 24 November 1959 in federal parliament E.D. Cash, a Liberal member from Western Australia, asked the Minister for Air, F.M. Osborne, whether his department (specifically Air Force Intelligence) had investigated the reports. The minister's reply did not address this question, but instead focused on the general situation, indicating that most sightings of UFOs were explained and 'that only a very small percentage, something like 3 percent of reported sightings of flying objects cannot be explained'. A representative of one UFO group was advised by the Directorate of Air Force Intelligence that the Department was awaiting 'depth of evidence' on the New Guinea sightings.

Finally the Minister for Defense requested a report and the RAAF interviewed Gill on 29 December 1959, some six months after the sighting. Gill's recollection of the visit is that the two officers from Canberra talked about stars and planets and then left. He heard no more from them.

Honey Island Swamp Monster

Near New Orleans, Louisiana, in the wild Honey Island Swamp, there lives-or so tradition has it-a swamp monster, a unique bipedal animal that leaves pointed three-toed footprints. Honey Island is a vast stand of bottomland swamp sitting between the east and west Pearl Rivers. Native Americans call this creature Letiche. Cajuns call it the Tainted Keitre. It is also called the Louisiana Wookie. The Honey Island Swamp Monster achieved national notoriety when filmmaker Alan Landsburg and oncamera host Leonard Nimoy featured the creature on the 1970s series "In Search of..."

In August 1963, Harlan E. Ford and a friend encountered a huge humanoid in Honey Island Swamp near Slidell, Louisiana. It glared menacingly at them and ran away on two legs.

In the 1980s, Loren Coleman interviewed locals with knowledge about the Honey Island Monster. One man told of past expeditions searching for them, and of finding their huge footprints. Another resident said he thought it looked generally like Bigfoot. However, most descriptions and tracks do not link the creature to Bigfoot.

Apollo 20 Secret Mission

In 1976, William Rutledge, a former astronaut stated that a top secret mission of Apollo 20 took place as a Soviet-American joint venture. At that time, the mission to the Moon was covered up by NASA. However, official NASA records say that the missions were cancelled due to budgetary constraints and that the astronauts were moved up to other missions. In 2007, several videos were uploaded to YouTube and the user who provided them claimed they were footage from Apollo 20. The user identified himself as William Rutledge, 78, a former astronaut now living in Rwanda. His videos show what seems to be the cabin of Apollo 20, as well as footage, supposedly on the moon, of a mysterious lunar city, as well as the corpse of what seems to be an alien girl lying in the cabin.

The alien girl supposedly found on an ancient spaceship
on the Moon's crater called Delporte Crater in 1976
According to NASA, the Apollo Program officially ended in 1972 with the Apollo 17 being the last mission to the Moon and back. However, NASA had planned three more missions, Apollo 18, Apollo 19 and Apollo 20. According to conspiracy theorists, the Apollo missions had discovered ancient artificial structures on the Moon and wanted to explore them without public knowledge.Rutledge said that the Apollo 14 mission had passed over the southern polar region of the Moon, observing numerous abandoned space ships and cities comprised of towering structures. The Apollo 20 landed near the Delporte Crater and its mission was to explore a cigar-shaped mother ship that had been abandoned for 1.5 million years.

Once inside it, the astronauts found two alien bodies. The male was dead but preserved so they recovered the female, dubbed Mona Lisa. He claims that the female alien he and his crew found had six fingers, hair, but no nostrils, and seemed to be in a state that was "not dead" but also "not alive". She was attached to the pilot controls of the spaceship, with several tubes going into her body and she was covered in a wax-like substance. She was brought back to Earth and he suspects that she was revived and is kept somewhere secret to this day. The male was also brought to Earth and an autopsy was performed on him.

The Ancient Wand of Syria

In a 2007-2009 excavation at Tell Qarassa, southern Syria, a team of archaeologists found some kind of fragment which possibly from a 'wand'. The mysterious object, made of cow bone and was about 4.7 inches (12 centimeters) long and thought to date from the late ninth millenium BC. It was uncovered from a funerary layer and has the depictions of two human faces engraved on it. The relic's purpose and symbolism remain a mystery.

It is a unique object, and the archaeologists suspect that it "probably depicted powerful supernatural beings". Two natural-looking faces, with eyes closed, were carved into the bone, though the wand was intentionally broken at both ends, with more faces likely originally adorning the staff.

"The find is very unusual. It's unique. The wand, which was likely used in a long-lost funeral ritual, is one of the only naturalistic depictions of human faces from this time and place," said study co-author Frank Braemer, an archaeologist at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique in France.

Interestingly, the wand was found near a burial site where thirty headless skeletons were discovered previously.

Strange Alien-like Creature In Ohio

On December 12, 2014, while driving on Carmel Road in Hillsboro, Ohio, a large gray creature crossed the road in front of the 60-year-old former Marine. He and his wife both reported seeing a, “7 foot tall, slim, gray creature with muscular legs that walked like its knees were backwards. Could it be a mutant or a gray alien?

According to his wife, "We recently bought a place in the Fort Hill area. On Friday night, we were driving home. After turning on Carmel Road, which leads to our road, we went around the curve by the Carmel church and then up a small incline and approximately 10 feet over the incline and in front of our truck, the ‘alien’ ran across the road and into the woods.”
"My husband saw it. He is a skeptic -- almost 60 years old -- and a proud Marine. He wouldn't have admitted to seeing it if he hadn't been in shock. I had him draw it for me when we got to the house. He says it was asphalt gray (our asphalt is gray) and about seven feet tall, no arms that he could see, but muscular in the legs area; no jawline, and its legs were bent backward and it leaned forward as it ran."

An investigator for the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON), named Ron McGlone, is currently investigating the report of a strange gray creature seen by the couple in Ohio.

Legend of Anjana

Anjana is a type of witch in Hispanic folklore, the name perhaps being derived from Jana or Diana. While according to Cantabrian mythology they are one of the best known fairies. These witches/fairies take on the form of old women to test out the charity of human beings. They foil the cruel and ruthless Ojáncanu. In most stories, they are the good fairies of Cantabria, generous and protective of all people. In their true form they are beautiful young women, fair haired and blue-eyed, clothed in tunics made of flowers and silver stars. They carry a gold staff and wear green stockings. They watch over animals and have underground palaces full of jewels and other treasure. The touch of their staff turns everything into riches.

Illustration of Fairy by Sophie Gengembre Anderson (1869)

Oral tradition provides different explanations for the nature of the Anjana. Some say they are heavenly beings sent by God to do good deeds, and they go back to heaven after 400 years, never to return. Others, however, indicate that they are spirits of trees who take care of the forests.

Traditions state that at night during the spring equinox, they gather in the fells and dance until dawn holding hands and scattering roses. Anyone who manages to find a rose with purple, green, blue, or golden petals will be happy until the time of their death.

Mystery of Amazonian Circles

A range of earthworks scattered throughout the Bolivian and Brazilian Amazon, comprising square, straight and circular ditches, are being studied by archaeologists and environmentalists. Since the 1980s, deforestation has revealed massive earthworks in the form of ditches up to 16 feet (5 meters) deep, and often just as wide. Satellite images of the upper Amazon Basin taken since 1999 have revealed more than 200 geometric earthworks spanning a distance greater than 155 miles (250 kilometers). They may have been used for defense, drainage, or perhaps ceremonial or religious reasons. They were substantial features, with ditches up to 10ft (3m) deep and 13ft (4m) wide. The researchers took core samples of the sediments from them and have discovered that they were created 2,000-3,000 years ago, before there was rainforest in the Amazon Basin, when the environment was, in fact, savannah.
These mysterious Amazonian Circles appear to predate the rainforest

The discovery that the human activity came before the forest answers some questions, like how Amazonian people could have built in the rainforest with no more than stone tools (they didn't have to), how many people would have been necessary to construct the structures (fewer than if clear-cutting had been required), and how the population survived (by growing maize). But who built the structures and what functions they served remains a mystery.
